Git Command Cheat Sheet

About this tool

Git is the version control system behind most software projects, and it has a lot of commands. This cheat sheet gathers 60+ of the ones you use every day, grouped by task: configuring Git, cloning and starting repositories, staging and committing changes, working with branches, merging and rebasing, managing remotes, undoing mistakes, stashing work in progress, reading history, and tagging releases.

Each row shows a command and a short explanation of what it does. Click any command to copy it to your clipboard, then paste it into your terminal. Use the search box to filter across all groups at once — try "branch", "reset" or "log". Everything runs locally in your browser.
