Type a number and this tool writes it out in standard English words. It handles values up to the trillions using the short-scale names thousand, million, billion and trillion, and follows the usual conventions — for example 1234 becomes "one thousand two hundred thirty-four" and 0 becomes "zero". A leading minus sign is read as "negative".
Decimal points are supported: the whole part is spelled as a full number, then the word "point" is read, and each digit after the point is read individually (so 3.14 becomes "three point one four"). Commas and surrounding spaces in the input are ignored. Everything runs locally in your browser — nothing is uploaded.
