About short links · How to use
What this short link generator does
Paste any http or https address and get a short link that stops working when you decide: 5 minutes, 60 minutes, 1 day, 7 days, or a custom number of minutes up to 7 days. Every short link comes with a QR code so it can be opened by scanning.
How to use it
- Paste the long URL.
- Pick an expiry.
- Press Generate — the short link and its QR code appear next to the form, which stays filled so you can make another.
- Open “My short links” to see click counts or revoke a link immediately.
Limits
- Only http and https targets. Links with embedded credentials, private-network or localhost addresses are rejected.
- No account is required; anonymous use is limited to 60 new links per hour per IP.
- After expiry the link answers 410 Gone and the record is deleted — it cannot be restored.
Privacy
The server stores the target URL, the expiry time, a click counter and a one-way hash of the creator’s IP for abuse handling. It does not keep your raw IP address and does not record who clicks. Revoking a link removes its record at once.
FAQ
- Can I change where a short link points?
- No. Revoke it and create a new one, so a link can never be silently redirected.
- Does the QR code expire too?
- Yes. It encodes the short link, so it stops working at the same moment.
- Is there a visit report?
- You see the total click count for each of your links; individual visitors are not recorded.
