This tool finds the angle between the hour hand and the minute hand of an analog clock at a given time. The minute hand sweeps six degrees per minute, while the hour hand moves half a degree per minute, so at H hours and M minutes the gap between them is the absolute value of thirty times H minus five-and-a-half times M. The result is reported as the smaller of the two angles the hands make, which is always between zero and one hundred eighty degrees.
Hours are taken on a twelve-hour dial, so entering 13 to 23 is folded onto 1 to 11 automatically. The tool also shows the reflex (larger) angle and the exact position of each hand measured clockwise from twelve o’clock. Everything is calculated locally in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
